The Caregiver Support Program provides respite services and/or caregiver supplies such as nutrition supplements and incontinence supplies to eligible caregivers of older adults.

It also provides access to available services that will help them meet the diverse needs for their specific circumstances.

The Lincoln County Caregiver Support program receives federal funding from the Older American's Act and operates in collaboration with other local agencies that provide support to local caregivers.

The North Carolina Division of Aging has identified five service categories where funding can be used to help caregivers.

Service Categories

The North Carolina Division of Aging has identified five service categories where funding can be used to help caregivers.

  • Information about Services
  • Access to Services: Call Senior Services at (704) 736-8410 or come by the office to ask for information about department programs or other resources in our community.
  • Caregiver Counseling/Support Groups/Training: Educational and informative programs provided and monthly support group meetings available.
  • Respite: This is the most requested service of the Caregiver Support Program. Senior Services contracts with several Home Care Agencies who will send an aide into the home to give a temporary break to the Caregiver. The nature of this service can be intermittent, occasional, or sometimes arranged on an emergency basis.
  • Supplemental Services: Provides supplies such as nutritional supplements and incontinence supplies to eligible caregivers of older adults.
