Beattys Ford Park Information

Beattys Ford Park is located at 8335 Shipley Lane in Denver, NC off Unity Church Road and Business Hwy 16.  The park is operated by Lincoln County in a lease partnership with Duke Energy.  The park features a picnic shelter, playground, splash pad, concession stand, fishing pier and swim beach area.  The fishing pier opened in April 2025 and the swim beach area and concessions opened in June 2025.

The boat ramp is open for public use.

ATTENTION:  The shelter at Beattys Ford Park is not available for group rentals or party usage until further notice.  We will not be taking rentals for the shelter in 2025/26.  Group events will not be allowed to setup at the park to insure that all areas are open for public use.


Parking Information

Parking spaces are available for visitors using park amenities like the playgrounds, splash pad, walking trail, beach and fishing pier.  Parking on park property to access the boat landing is not permitted.  Vehicles not following the parking rules may be towed at owner's expense.

Swim Beach Information


ATTENTION:  The swim beach area and splash pads close for the season at the end of September.  The swim beach is open on Saturdays only in September.  


During the swim season, the swim beach is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 6 PM.  The swim beach area is swim at your own risk and no lifeguards on duty.  The capacity of the beach is 150 people and staff monitor this capacity daily.  If the beach is full, we ask that visitors come back later in the day or another day.  Beach capacity numbers will but posted on our Lincoln County Parks and Recreation Facebook page and on our main Parks and Recreation page here.  

Swim Beach Rules and Policies


  • No lifeguards on duty, swim at your own risk
  • No Smoking, vaping, or tobacco/hemp use 
  • No alcohol or glass containers
  • No trespassing/swimming after hours
  • Children under 16 must have adult supervision to swim
  • No dogs/pets allowed
  • Appropriate swim attire required, no nudity
  • Swim only inside yellow buoy line
  • No loud or vulgar music or disorderly conduct
  • No tents or umbrellas allowed inside beach area

Admission

  • Admission is temporarily cash only while we wait on some equipment.
  • Children 5 and under Free.
  • Lincoln County Children over 6: $2
  • County adults: $3
  • Non County children: $3
  • Non County Adults: $6

In the event of inclement/severe weather, the swim beach will close to the public and visitors will be required to leave beach area.

Swim Beach Water Quality

As part of our operations and in coordination with Duke Energy, the water quality at the swim beach area is tested weekly by a certified testing agency.  If water quality doesn't meet the established quality standards, the swim beach is closed to the public.  Any closures due to water quality will posted on our social media and here on the county website.

Fishing Pier Information


The fishing pier at Beattys Ford Park is now open!  The pier is open daily from sunrise to sunset.  Please remember that a North Carolina fishing license is required for anyone over 16 years old fishing at the pier or on Lake Norman.  You can purchase a fishing license locally or online at:  https://gooutdoorsnorthcarolina.com/

Please remember these rules when visiting the fishing pier:

  1. No alcohol is allowed at Lincoln County parks including the fishing pier
  2. No smoking, vaping or tobacco/hemp use
  3. No swimming or jumping from the pier
  4. No overnight/after hours fishing
  5. No glass containers
  6. No cutting bait or cleaning fish at the pier, in the park area or in the restrooms
  7.  Anyone under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult
