The DASH is a new service that offers a reservation-based ride. County residents simply call in advance to schedule their trip and then can ride for FREE! It’s available to all transit riders between 8 AM and 5 PM weekdays except county holidays. Each pick up and drop off point must be at a stop listed within the city limits of Lincolnton. TLC reserves the right to limit trips to one round trip per day, per person, time permitting.
Transportation Lincoln County serves all of Lincoln County including the municipalities within its borders. Lincoln County is a rural county located near the western piedmont of North Carolina encompassing 316 square miles. The ridership of TLC is comprised of the clients and consumers of the participating organizations as well as the general public. Destination points are at the discretion of the participating agency and include transportation services to points outside Lincoln County.
Rural General Public (RGP) service is available, for a small fare, on all of our routes if the trip deviates no more than 0.75 miles. Route deviation requests must be made the day prior to the trip. Please call TLC dispatch at (704) 736-2030 to arrange your ride. RGP services are also available in the city of Lincolnton on the DASH. RGP service is open to any Lincoln County resident and all service is accessible to persons with disabilities. TLC reserves the right to limit deviations to one per day per passenger on the DASH.
The vehicle fleet of TLC consists of twenty-two (22) ten or fourteen passenger vans. All vehicles are lift equipped.
It is the policy of Transportation Lincoln County (TLC) to assure full compliance with the Title VI Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, Executive Order 12898 Federal Actions to Address Environmental Justice in Minority Populations and Low- Income Populations, Executive Order 13166 Improving Access to Services for Persons with Limited English Proficiency, and related nondiscrimination statues and regulations in all programs and services. It is also TLC’s policy that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex, age, income status, national origin, or disabilities be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under any program, activities, or services for which Transportation Lincoln County receives Federal financial assistance.
Any person who believes they have been mistreated by an unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI has a right to file a formal complaint with Transportation Lincoln County. Any such complaint must be in writing or in person with the TLC Office at 435 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC or via USPS to TLC Manager, 435 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC, 28092, or by email to the Transportation Manager, or by phone to 704-732-9061 within one hundred eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged discrimination occurrence. Transportation Lincoln County operates an American with Disabilities Act compliant system. Requests for reasonable policy modifications should be submitted in writing to the TLC Office at 435 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC or via USPS to TLC Manager, c/o 115 West Main Street, Lincolnton, NC, 28092 and should include what modifications are needed in order for the individual to use the transportation service.
