An employee in this position provides basic and advanced life support care and transportation in emergency and non-emergency situations to citizens and visitors to Lincoln County. Assesses patients for the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures and determine the need for additional assistance. Responsible for patient data being entered into EPCR record timely and accurately. Ensures proper function and stock of supplies on unit and monitors dated items for expiration. Responsible for compliance to all applicable OSHA, HIPPA, Medicare/Medicaid rules and regulations. Operates a Quick Response Vehicle. Cleans and decontaminates all used equipment following calls. Maintains the base in a clean and orderly manner. Must have knowledge of emergency medical care procedures, practices, (NIMS, NRP, ICS) and techniques; knowledge of basic and advanced life support; knowledge of emergency vehicle operation and maintenance and of modern office practices and procedures. Must have skill in dealing with the public and resolving conflicts. Must have skill in maintaining records and in interpersonal relations. Must have skill in oral and written communication. |

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education or GED. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years experience or service. |

Possession of a valid appropriate driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina, a safe driving record, Possession of or ability to readily obtain appropriate state EMS certification. Obtain the following credentials: NREMT-P, IS700, IS800, ICS100, ICS200, BCLS, ACLS, ITLS, EVD, PALS within six months. Copy of Certifications required with application. |
