July 7, 2021 - Citizen's Police Academy Course
Lincolnton, NC - The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is currently taking applications for the upcoming Citizen's Police Academy. The course is for citizens interested in how the Sheriff's Office serves the community.
The academy is open to all individuals aged 18 and over who work or reside in Lincoln County. This year’s academy class will be held every Monday from 6:00 pm-8:30 pm from August 30, 2021, to November 8, 2021. Participants will be able to engage with their Sheriff’s Office, receive lectures, and participate in practical hands-on training enabling a unique insight into the field of law enforcement. Topics of Instruction include Sheriffs’ s Office Duties, Use of Force, Law Enforcement Communications, Traffic Enforcement, Special Operations (SWAT, Dive Team, Land Search, and Mobile Field Force), Criminal Investigations, and detention center operations.
Applications are available online at www.lincolnsheriff.link/2021app or may be picked up in person at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office located at 700 John Howell Memorial Dr. Lincolnton, NC. Class size is limited, and all applications are to be submitted by August 1, 2021. All applicants will be subject to a National Crime Computer background check and applicants with a significant criminal history will be rejected. The Sheriff retains sole discretion on excluding applicants from the program.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes first responder-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement and first responders while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police, first responders, and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

October 13, 2020 - Amendments to the Current Addressing Ordinance
Amendments to the current addressing ordinance regarding piers and docks have recently been adopted. The proper posting of the lakeside address should include both the road name and assigned 911 address. In such instances, the lake front address posting will be constructed of a 12x18 sign, blue in color with reflective lettering, and should be placed at the end of the dock or pier, readily visible from the lake.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has resumed fingerprinting for the public.
Fingerprints will be done by appointment only. Please call 704-732-9050 to schedule an appointment.
East Lincoln and West Lincoln Sheriff's Offices Closed to Public
March 31, 2020 - The Adam District Office and Charlie District Office will remain closed to walk-in traffic. The offices are closed due to issues pertaining to the Covid-19 virus.
The Charlie District Office is located at 1889 North Highway 16 in Denver and the Adam District office at 3606 West Highway 27 in Lincolnton, NC.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Main Office at 700 John Howell Memorial Drive, Lincolnton, NC will be open and available to walk-ins. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Concealed carry permit applications will be taken by appointment
Concealed carry permit applications will be taken by appointment only. Residents can apply for new concealed carry permits by calling the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at 704-732-9050 to set up an appointment. You can also apply by clicking on the "Apply for a Permit" link listed below.
Gun Purchases and Conceal Carry Permits
Learning the laws regulating the use of firearms is a must for responsible ownership. Local regulations differ and laws vary from state to state. Citizens must check with the jurisdiction where the gun is to be used.
