The District promotes the Resource Conservation Workshop. This workshop is for high school students (priority is given to rising juniors or seniors) who have demonstrated an interest in natural resource conservation.
The workshop is held on the campus of N.C. State University at the end of June. The workshop is a five-day study in the management of wildlife, soils, forests, and water quality. The event also includes outdoor activities and tours around Raleigh. Students are tested at the end of the workshop and top students receive cash awards and college scholarship assistance.
The Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District covers the cost of tuition and meals for one student each year.
